REFLECTION
Experience
I felt it was a long journey that I've made it to this point. I was very foreign to typography at first. But slowly I came to adapt to it. Most of the time I was happy with my progress of learning in typography. I also have never felt burnt out... I am not sure why but my classmates are feeling that way. 'Maybe I was not doing my full potential?' I always thought. But nevertheless, this module had introduce me into the wonderous world of typography. I can see and also discover so many designs, typography, and that sort of things. It took a lot of time to learn and do, also TIME MANAGEMENT.
Observations
I feel like I became more detailed and certain about types. When I was 12-15, I really liked weird and not that typical fonts. If it is weird, I like it. But now, after learning the details, characteristics, even the history. I took types and fonts more serious. Studying them and deconstructing the types made me pay more attention to the details. I use to commented some designs like poster, banner, packaging, etc, but never specifically the type that they use or the typography in general. After my module, I slowly became more sharp, I guess.
Findings
Task after task, I found out that typography is way complex than what people think of. It is not that letters or words that has similar style. But it has been designed constructively, with the rules that had been developed for thousands of years. I discover that it is not that simple to learn this. I also found out that I am more of a constructive and observant person, hence it is quite easy for me to follow the tasks. I also found that we need a great eye and observational skill to ace typography. Overall, I have learn to appreciate typography and typefaces. How it is not only a 'font' but a work of art.
