User Experience Design / Bachelor of Design in Creative Media
By week 4 we were briefed and tasked to start our project on
the mobile application. Step-by-step we are building up our UX
research. We need to research some data and ideas on our
direction for the application. Then we start to set up 3 user
personas that is suitable for our application.
So that time, our group re-firm our brand direction and the
mobile app direction.
Fashion-niche: Bohemian Style
User personas(ver.1):
1. Plus sized
2. Fashionista
3. Finding Vacation Clothes
User personas (ver. 2):
1. Plus-sized influencer
2. Fashion/dress for vacation seeker
3. Bohemian Enthusiast
Then we each create each persona a board of who they are,
their needs, goals, etc. Also we make the empathy map base on
the user persona.
Figure 1.1 User Personas and Empathy Map
After lectures on Law of UX Design and User Journey Map. We
continue with creating the User Journey Maps for each our user
personas. Each of the user persona will have 2 journey map. 1st
one will be their journey experiencing shopping and buying a
bohemian style clothes (dress) in a retail store (offline store)
and the 2nd one would be their "probable" experience on
shopping and buying the clothes in our mobile application.
The offline store that we decided to do an onsite visit is ZARA.
Although there are several stores of ZARA, they mostly have the
same layout store and same user experience.
Figure 1.2 Zara Store
From the store visit we can analyze and stand in the customer's
shoe their journey shopping in ZARA.
We divided the task to each members for the user persona. But
for the user journey maps we manage to do it and discuss it
together in a meeting!
Figure 1.3 User Journey Map
Based on the user journey map, we start to plan out our
wireframing plan and all the basis for the design of the app.
Each of us made their ideas on what to have inside the app and
make a rough wireframing. Then we combine it together into a
cohesive 1 wireframing.
Figure 1.4 Wireframes from each of us
The squared or boxed area is the probable layout and features
that we will use for our final wireframe! This is after our
discussions and agreements within the group..
Figure 1.5 Wireframe made by me
We have a meeting to discuss our wireframe together. By putting
sticky notes and comments of our favorite things and things we
feel like we can use and improve.
Figure 1.6 Comments in my wireframe
Figure 1.7 Some other comments in my member's wireframe
Before continuing to the wireframe we also finalize our brand
logo, color, typography and all the art direction of our
application!
Each of us designed our idea on the logo/icon of the app. Then
together we decided which one we will use, by discussion and
polling. Though we have some disagreement on the logo style, but
finally after compromising and combining our ideas we came to
one final logo and color palette!

Then the process of building our application wireframe
started.
