1.1 Final Arrangement and Touch Ups
Figure 1.1.1 Design 1
I add some highlights and shadows to the piece to make it alive. I initially added a facial feature to the main character, but I thought the facial expression of the girl would draw attention from the big flower. And also I want to use only the position of the head and how the girl stand to depict on what is she feeling now and the emotion of this piece. Sad, melancholic, but also hopeful (by the present of the flower.

I want to make a less intense and cleaner look on the design 2. By decreasing the size of the lines, or decreasing the amount of hands, and trying out a different variation of colors. And I end up with yellow and pink design.
1.2 Final Result and Reflection
This is the final result of the first exercise design 1, "Hope". This piece wanted to point out the Emphasize design principle. Using size, color contrast, placements and even the meaning of the object in this piece, to emphasize a certain element. Using big flower can be aesthetically pleasing as well as provide a deeper meaning to this design. A lilliput princess that got no where to go, because her home town is no longer what it used to be (flourish and lively). Only having this flower as an umbrella to protect her already fragile physics and also her heart and mind that is in the state of shock, sad, and distressed. She is standing on top of that is once her home. So with that meaning behind the element. It can be brought up through the supporting elements beside it.

Figure 1.2.2 Final Outcome Design 1
This is the final result of the first exercise design 2, "Jan Ken じゃん拳", which is the name of rock paper scissors in Japanese. I apply Unity design principle. Using direction of the finger that is pointing towards to the middle of the space of this design. Showing one focal point. This design is inspired from when in school children are playing "Rock-paper-scissors" at recess time. In Indonesia, we also have our own version of "Rock-paper-scissors". Which consist of ; thumb as an elephant, index finger as a human, and last but not least pinky finger as worm or ant. In a sense I want to draw out our point, purpose, and focus in school was actually to socialize with friends, teachers, even the janitors in school. This Indonesian style "Rock-paper-scissors" somehow took me back to those days where I still run around in school, only know that I must study first, then I can play.
